Hiplock

A hiplock is very different from a lateral in an over-under position.

Brandon Paulson takes a deep center step through the middle of the opponent's stance.

As he drives into the center of the stance, he twists his upper body hard to his over-hook side.

In this frame, you can see the power of the hard twist and back-step motion that Paulson employs to off-balance his opponent.

Notice the flexibility and power that Paulson uses in this throw.

Paulson pulls down hard on the overhook to take his opponent to his back.

Pay close attention to the strong bowing motion that becomes the follow-through of the throw.

The attacking wrestler needs to control the overhook to capture his opponent on his back.

After the throw is executed the wrestler needs to get to strong pin position.

Greco-Roman wrestling skills can be a powerful tool regardless of their favorite style.
