Over-tie Shuck

An often overlooked but very effective tie-up is the over-tie, where an opponent head-ties by reaching outside of an opponent's tie-up.
Here, the wrestler in red establishes inside control, while the blue wrestler reaches outside into an over-tie.

The right hand of the blue wrestler pushes, getting the red wrestler to push in.
Here, you can clearly see the head-tie of the red wrestler.

In this frame, the blue wrestler's left hand moves into an over-tie (a head-tie without inside control).
Immediately, as the blue wrestler makes contact, he snaps the over-tie and shucks off the head-tie of his opponent.

Notice how the blue wrestler bows off the head-tie, pushing it by in a shuck motion.
The over-tie shuck takes advantage of the red wrestler's push into the blue wrestler.

The over-tie shuck should be practiced for timing.
Don't hang on to the position. Practice for "one-touch".

Eric Akin, the blue wrestler, mastered this technique during his career.
An over-tie shuck is also sometimes called a pass-by.
