Kendall Cross Whizzer Counter
Kendall Cross in blue had demonstrates a unique way to take an opponent through for exposure off of a whizzer. As Cross is forced to the mat with a whizzer, he caps the move by locking his fist above the opponent's shoulder. Cross posts his head to the mat and begins a cartwheel towards the capped whizzer.
Cross uses his free hand to push off of, while rotating over the whizzer. To help avoid giving up exposure himself, Cross locks behind the opponent's knee. All the while, he maintains the pressure on the opponent's shoulder by keeping the whizzer capped.
Lift the opponent's hip by lifting the near knee. Most defenders will expose because of the lift and the pressure. In this case, Cross slipped off of the leg but was able to get exposure points by continuing the tough pry on the opponent's shoulder.
The pressure forces the opponent to roll through.   An unusual counter to the whizzer, that requires practice and planning.
