Sanchez, a redshirt freshman at Santa Ana College, won first collegiate competition Sept. 16 by compiling a perfect 4-0 record while leading his team to the title at the Mt. San Antonio College Dual Meet Tournament in California Community College competition.

Sanchez scored two falls and one technical fall leading up to the premier match of the night against Jimmy Valdivia of Cerritos College. Valdivia is a returning California Community College state finalist and the top-ranked 125-pound wrestler in the state.
