Logan Stieber named Wrestler of the Week for June 23-29

Logan Stieber (Monroeville, Ohio/Team Ohio) has been named Wrestler of the Week for June 23-29.

Each week, will select an Athlete of the Week, based upon performance within wrestling for that week. The selection committee will consider any level of wrestling, from youth programs through the Senior level.

Stieber compiled a perfect 10-0 record at 125 pounds to lead Ohio to the freestyle team title at the Junior National Duals this past weekend in Oklahoma City, Okla.

Stieber and his Ohio teammates downed New Jersey 35-22 in the freestyle finals on June 28.

Stieber, who still has a year of high school left, has turned in a strong season on the Senior level this year. He placed third at the U.S. Nationals at 55 kg/121 lbs. and was fourth at the U.S. World Team Trials.

Stieber was a 2008 Junior Nationals champion in freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling.

He has verbally committed to wrestle collegiately for Ohio State.
